Student Council

What is Student Council?

The Diamond Middle School Student Council consists of 6,7,and 8th grade students who want to make Diamond a better place. Please take a look at our Initiatives below to see what projects the Diamond Student Council is currently participating in.

MEETINGS (meetings are currently be held in room 1005)

Hurricane Relief Fundraiser

Student Council members, with the support of the Diamond PTA,  are selling drawstring bags to raise money for classrooms in the communities affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Jose and Maria.

The bag (pictured above) costs $10. Use this link to purchase as many bags as you’d like.

If you prefer to make a general donation instead, use this link.

All proceeds will go directly to classrooms in need through an organization called DonorsChoose. As a group, we will choose projects posted by teachers and schools in affected areas.

The Diamond Student Council is a group of students dedicated to making positive change, not only at Diamond, but also in the Lexington community and throughout our world. With your support, together we can make a difference!

Student Council members will be present during Back to School night, so please stop by and ask us any questions.

The WDMS Student Council’s Mission Statement

The mission of our student council is to allow students to become responsible leaders within our school community.

We will create a positive environment where students share respect, kindness, and compassion towards one another.

We will serve as a source of communication between the student body and the faculty and administration of the school.
