Please call the school nurse with any questions or concerns related to your child. The nurse is in school daily starting the week before school starts if you would like to drop off medication for the upcoming school year or discuss your child’s specific health concerns.
All Health forms for Lexington Public Schools are available here. Information about medication at school can be found there. No medication (this includes over the counter medicines) may be given by the school nurse without a doctor’s order and parent permission.
Please notify the school nurse with any changes in your child’s health status. These changes may include an injury, an illness, a hospitalization, an illness or death of a family member/beloved pet or any other event in which your child may need some extra support during their school day.
A doctor’s order is needed if your child is to be excused from recess or gym for any reason. Children are kept indoors for recess when the temperature outside during the winter is below 18 degrees.
The nurse does not get messages left on the school absence line (office staff get these messages) unless directed to by parents. Messages for the school nurse are to be left on the nurse’s voice mail at 781-860-5800 extension 1.
Please consider bringing an extra set of clothes (especially socks and underwear) to be kept in your child’s locker in case of any bathroom accidents or contact with puddles at recess.
