How to get to School:

Parents of children not on IEPs are responsible for transporting their child to and from school.Children on IEPs are entitled to receive van transportation, however, the staff recommends parent transportation if at all possible to assist in daily communication and dialogue.

Arrival:

Lexington Children’s Place is a preschool program, not a full day childcare program. Our schedule begins just as the class start time begins.  Please make every effort to be prompt in your arrival time.  Unless a child is riding the bus, parents MUST walk their child into school and remain with their child until the classroom doors have opened ( generally 5 minutes before the official class start time).

Dismissal:

Your child’s classroom ends at a specific time. Please be at LCP at that time and ready to receive your child.  It is very difficult for young children to wait for a late pick up on a regular basis.  Please be prompt in your arrival. If your child arrives at school late, his or her pick up time does not change.

YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE DISMISSED TO ANYONE OTHER THAN A KNOWN PARENT/CAREGIVER WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN PERMISSION!!!

If you need to have an unfamiliar person pick-up your child, we must have a written note from you. Without this note and your permission, we cannot dismiss your child. If your child is not able to be dismissed to a parent or other person for legal reasons, please make us aware of this situation. Should staff be unsure of the person picking up your child, we will ask for photo identification as proof of identity. Please warn people picking up your child of this possibility so that they have the appropriate identification with them. If identification cannot be provided, your child will not be allowed to leave with that person.
