Rather than the usual Q&A format this week, we are listing places that take donations of various items. Some organizations will pick up the goods at your home, but generally need advance notice to schedule the pick-up. Computers, appliances, and so forth need to be in working order.

CLOTHING, SHOES and LINENS: Boys & Girls Club (will pick up) 800-483-5503; Epilepsy Foundation (will pick up) 617-436-6283; First Parish Steeple Shop 781-862-8200; Goodwill (truck behind Bedford Street Walgreen's or Arlington Stop & Shop); Planet Aid (nearest box is on Park Avenue in Arlington); Salvation Army (will pick up) 781-231-0803; St. Vincent De Paul (box behind Saint Brigid's); Vietnam Veterans of America truck (will pick up) 800-775-8387.

HOUSEHOLD GOODS: (kitchen utensils, lamps, etc.) Boys & Girls Club; Epilepsy Foundation; Goodwill; Salvation Army; VVA.

SMALL APPLIANCES: Boys & Girls Clubs; Goodwill; Salvation Army; VVA; Cambridge Furniture Bank (will pick up) 617-492-0300.

LARGE APPLIANCES: Cambridge Furniture Bank will pick up: refrigerators and freezers, washers and electric dryers less than 10 years old.

TOYS: Goodwill Salvation Army (will pick up); VVA (will pick up).
