Composition of the Conservation Commission

The 7 Commissioners are appointed by the Town Manager, with the approval of the Selectmen and serve 3 year terms. There are also Associate Commissioners for specific duties. The commission's only paid personnel are the part time Conservation Administrator, a Conservation Assistant - position currently vacant, and, during the summer only (when funds are available), a trail maintenance crew of 3. The Commission also hires consultants, when needed, for review of specific development plans that require specialized knowledge.
