This 24.3 acre wooded property, in part known formerly as the North Street sand pits,is now a partly wooded upland area with three ponds, extensive wetlands, and a section of the Vine Brook. It contains a bike path that parallels the brook from North Street to Emerson Road. It was transferred to Conservation at the 2005 Annual Town meeting. Limited parking is available in a paved lot at the southwestern corner of the Adams Street intersection with North Street at one end of the bike path, or along Emerson Road at the other end of the bike path. Access is from North Street, Emerson Road via the bike path, or Lowell Street, though there are no formal trails in from Lowell street yet. A program of trail development is under consideration by the Stewards to replace the informal paths that now exist.
A short slide show of the area taken in February 2005 shows some of the upland woods, the larger pond and the parking area from North Street.
The boundaries are shown in this composite map taken from the Assessor's map of the two lots Map 68 - Parcel 45 - 2.8 acres; and Map 69 - Parcel 99 - 21.5 acres.
