Juniper Hill Conservation Area in Lexington, MA

This 28.4 acre property was preserved and improved by members of the surrounding neighborhoods. It offers lovely wooded paths that lead through a red maple swamp, upland oak woods, a grassy knoll, and a shaded cedar hill.

This hill was part of a larger section of pasture land until the early 1900s, and stone walls along with so-called "wolf trees" tell a part of its story. Currently at its late pioneer tree stage, with birch, aspen, cedar, juniper, grasses, and black cherry, a regular visitor is able to witness the property's succession from pasture land to woods. There is limited parking at the end of Barberry Road.
